Escaleras, Costa Rica

The area is a more upscale alternative to its neighbor, Dominicalito, with scenic ridges that overlook the expanse of the coast line. Escaleras is situated very near to two major shopping areas in the forms of Quepos and San Isidro General, Quepos itself of course being the entrance to the famous Manuel Antonio National Park.

Escaleras is easily accessible from numerous routes; from downtown San Jose, the capital city of Costa Rica, via the rocky Inter-American Highway, south to San Isidro de El General and west of the Pacific Coast, or from the Juan Santamaria International Airport, along the coast road route from Jaco and Quepos. The roads are in good condition and make for a very enjoyable drive with some very attractive scenery of their own en route.

Accommodations vary from budget priced cabins to the more expensive and luxurious end of the market, including villas and condominiums.
