Moravia, Costa Rica
Situated around four kilometers northwest of downtown San Jose, Moravia is a Canton near to the district of San Vincente. Moravia has ended up as almost a part of the capital district and is best known for its products such as leather, coffee, beans, fruits, vegetables and dairy products. Indeed, Moravia was a very important part of Costa Rica's coffee industry when it was in its prime.
Moravia has an average temperature of around twenty one degrees centigrade, which makes it a very pleasant place to stay. Much of the canton is taken up with the Brauilio National Park, an exotic treasure that provides visitors with the sight of a fauna and flora sanctuary filled with tropical plants, an emerald green abundance of vegetation, and many exotic birds and animals. In addition to the National Park, however, there is also a thriving arts and handcraft market which has become something of a tourist attraction in itself, particularly notable in this regard being the Mercado de Artesanias Las Garvas (which roughly translates to Heron Craft Market), although most streets in the town can be found filled with souvenir outlets selling everything from jewelry to Cuban cigars, and from woven bags to tipico ox carts.
There is even a family owned leather shop which offers tours to the factory that makes its products, which has machinery dating back over sixty years to the time of the Second World War. Moravia also offers several superb routes for runners as well as fine accommodation and easy accessibility.
