Playa Carrillo

There are not many restaurants, resorts or hotels to be seen around the beach, as Playa Carrillo is perhaps less developed than some of its contemporaries, but that does not mean there are no activities for tourists to indulge in. On the contrary, Playa Carrillo offers a healthy plethora of possible pastimes such as sport fishing, turtle tours, or day trips to nearby National Parks such as Barra Honda and Palo Verde. There are some hotels in the area, which generally cater to the mid-range market.

There is not much in the way of low cost accommodation, so any tourists who are on a budget and still wish to sample the delights of this relaxed and soothing bay should possibly consider vacation rental as an option to be able to do so. Playa Carrillo is accessible by air (with a small airstrip located just outside of the town, accepting flights from Nosara (from San Jose and/or Liberia), as well as buses or cars from Road 150.
