Fun Things to do in Alajuela, Costa Rica
Alajuela is a great place for vacation if you're looking for somewhere different to go in Costa Rica. There are plenty of things to see and do there, and you can find plenty of affordable places to eat and shop while you're there. It would be a great place to stay while visiting the surrounding areas including San Jose.
The weather in Alajuela is beautiful and warm, but the province is fairly close to volcanoes, so tourists are encouraged to use extra caution when hiking and visiting certain natural parks. There are plenty of places to visit if you enjoy nature and want to look at the beautiful animals and plants in the area, so you can visit places like the Cano Negro National Wildlife Refuge, which is a habitat for wetland animals year round. And, you can even go fishing at the refuge, as well as take advantage of the nature trails that are available in the park.
The Poas Volcano National Park is also an ideal place to visit when you're in Alajuela; this can be both an educational and recreational trip, since you'll find out how volcanoes shape some parts of the landscape of the planet, and you'll be able to see how volcanic gases effect the national park.
If you want to book a trip to Alajuela, there are plenty of quality hotels and vacation rentals to choose from as well. You can choose from great resorts such as the Hotel Martino, which is a five-star hotel that is surrounding by a tropical jungle, or the El Cafetel Inn, which offers great food and affordable deals for travelers. Or, you can enjoy a relaxing day at El Tucano and Spa, where you'll find time to swim, get a massage, or enjoy a day in the sun at the spa's beautiful gardens and outdoor pools.
Before you book your trip to Alajuela, it's important to find out a little about the province, and about the country of Costa Rica, so that you will know how to find your way around, and how to communicate with the people of Costa Rica. It may be a good idea to learn a couple of words of Spanish so that you can learn more about certain places to shop or eat that may not have been included in your initial travel plans, and be sure to talk to your travel agent or discover online well in advance to find discounted deals on high-end restaurants, spas and resorts, and recreational activities in Alajuela. Be sure to take plenty of pictures while you're there, and learn about other provinces in Costa Rica, such as Limon and Heredia, so that you can plan to visit somewhere new and learn more about the history of Costa Rica the next time you're in the country.
