Parrita, Costa Rica

In terms of accessibility, Parrita can be approached from the Guapinol Highway by way of Puriscal and even the inland Talamanca mountain range. In terms of tourist attractions and activities, the massive Parrita River sits astride the town, with its Class II rapids making it an excellent site for white water rafting activities, and the town has an attractive black sand beach as well as offering the sights of some truly stunning sunsets.

Parrita offers numerous good quality and reasonably priced restaurants, and the town is also situated not far from the Manuel Antonio National Park, which is certainly worth a day trip to. Manuel National Park, despite being the nation's smallest National Park, offers extensive jungle hiking trails, stunningly beautiful protected beaches and snorkeling activities, among other attractions such as 109 species of mammals and 184 separate species of birds. There are also horseback riding, world class deep sea fishing and golfing activities available not too far out from the town.

Accommodation is available primarily in the fields of either small budget surf camp sites or big luxury hotels, with little for the midrange budget except for the vacation rentals.
