For anyone who visits the province of Guanacaste in Costa Rica one thing is for sure, you will not be short of things to do. There are plenty of interesting activities available for all visitors. Guanacaste has a tropical like climate which means there is sunshine all year round. It has a number of beautiful beaches and is filled with dense forests making it the ideal location for relaxation and adventure.
The region is home to a number of national parks, forest reserves, and areas that are deemed protected and are all filled with fascinating wildlife. These key elements are a part of what makes the province a well visited region by tourists. Here are some of the more popular activities to do in Guanacaste.
One of the top activities to engage in here is surfing. This is an extremely popular sport in the province with the Pacific Coast area fast becoming the place to be for some of the world’s top professional and amateur surfers. The beaches along the coast are eye-popping and breathtaking and are not very crowded. In fact on some beaches you surf are likely to find fewer than ten people which means the surf is practically all yours.
Everyone from professional to the novice can go surfing and find waves that are challenging. For the beginner is easy to find a board to rent or take a lesson or two on the most popular surf beaches. Although a number of the beaches are not easy to reach and the access roads are at times no more than dirt track, this adds to the allure of it all and has not stopped the thousands of surfers that visit each year. One off the best locations in Guanacaste is north close to the Golfo de Papagayo and a part of the Santa Rosa National Park is the sandy beach of Playa Naranjo.
